Privacy Policy
Effective October 26, 2026 (updated October 26: hosting on the web, usage records)
AquiGo is a party-games app and website (together, "AquiGo") operated by Avident Solutions, based in Texas, USA ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies wherever AquiGo is available. Our Terms of Use also apply.
The short version
- We collect what's needed to run your parties: names, the content you share, game answers and, for hosts, an email sign-in.
- Everything you share stays inside one party. Only that party's host, co-hosts and guests can see it.
- Photos and videos are deleted automatically when the party's album period ends.
- We don't sell your information, show ads or track you across other apps and websites.
- You can delete your account in the app, and ask us to access, correct or delete your data at support@aquigo.app.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Host accounts: your name, email address and password (stored securely by our sign-in provider; we never see it), or your Google or Apple sign-in; your chosen color; an optional profile picture; and your notification settings.
- Guests: the display name and color you choose for a party and an optional profile picture. Guests don't create an account or give an email address; the app gives each guest an anonymous sign-in ID.
- Party details: a party's name, type, date and time, optional location, look and settings, chosen by its host.
- Things you share in a party: photos and videos (and a video's length), chat messages, emoji reactions, GIFs you pick, game questions and answers, guesses, photo-hunt entries, announcements, and scores.
- Safety actions: reports you make (with the reason) and people you block.
- Purchases: when a host buys a plan, the App Store or Google Play takes the payment. We receive a record of the purchase (the product, date, store order number and whether it was refunded), never your card or bank details.
- Messages to us: anything you send to our support address.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information: the type of device, operating system and web browser, the app version, and, if you allow notifications in the app, a push notification token for your device. The website and web app keep you signed in using your browser's storage; they don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Presence: whether you're in the app now and when you were last active in a party, so people in the same party can see who's around.
- Usage and session information: when you open AquiGo, we record the date and time, whether you're using the app on Android or iPhone or a web browser, your device or browser type, the app version, and your country, which we take from your device's region setting rather than your location. This record isn't linked to your name, your photos or your messages.
- Technical logs: our servers and providers record basic technical information such as IP address, time of request and errors, to keep AquiGo working and secure.
What we don't collect
We don't use third-party advertising or analytics trackers, we don't collect your precise location, and we don't read your contacts. The camera, microphone and photo library are used only when you choose to take or pick a photo or video, or scan a party QR code; only the photos and videos you choose to share are uploaded.
2. How we use it
- To run AquiGo: create and run parties, let guests join with a code, run games and score answers on our servers, share photos, videos and chats, and show leaderboards.
- To send notifications you've allowed, such as announcements, game starts, new messages and album reminders.
- To process purchases: confirm a purchase with the store, upgrade the party, restore purchases and give refunds.
- To keep people safe: handle reports and blocks, enforce our Terms, and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To keep AquiGo running, secure and improving: to check that our servers are up and working, find and fix errors, detect and prevent abuse, fraud and security threats, and understand in aggregate how AquiGo is used (for example, how many parties are running and on which devices), so we can plan and improve the service. We use this information only in summary form, never to build a profile of you.
- To support you when you contact us, and to fix problems and improve AquiGo.
- To follow the law and respond to valid legal requests.
We don't use your content to train artificial intelligence, and we don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Who can see your content
Everything you add to a party belongs to that party. Only its host, co-hosts and guests can see it, and nothing is visible across parties. Chats are visible only to the people in them. Guests' game answers and guesses are private; others see only results and winners.
Hosts and co-hosts can see a party's guest list and the reports made in it, and can remove photos, videos and profile pictures. Reported content is hidden from other guests until the host decides. The person reported isn't told who reported them.
Anyone in a party can save or share photos and videos shared there, so think before you share. We can't control copies other people make.
4. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising. Usage and session information is never sold, rented or traded, never used for advertising or to track you across other apps and websites, and never shared with anyone outside the service providers listed below that host it for us. Inside AquiGo, only authorized administrators can see it, through a secured internal tool that requires verified sign-in. We share personal information only as follows:
- Service providers that run AquiGo for us under contracts that limit how they can use it:
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud): sign-in, database, file storage, server functions, website hosting and notification delivery to Android.
- RevenueCat: confirms and records in-app purchases with the App Store and Google Play.
- Expo: delivers push notifications.
- GIPHY: provides GIF search. Your search words are sent to GIPHY through our servers, without your name or account.
- Apple and Google when you download the app or buy a plan, under their own privacy policies.
- Other people in your party, as described above.
- For legal reasons: when we believe in good faith it's required by law or a valid legal request, or needed to protect the safety, rights or property of people using AquiGo, the public or us.
- Business changes: if Avident Solutions is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, and this policy will continue to protect it.
- With your consent for anything else.
5. How long we keep it
- Photos and videos in a party, including profile pictures, are deleted automatically when the party's album period ends: up to 14 days after the party on Free, up to 60 on Standard and up to 180 on Celebration, as the host chose. Scores and game results stay with the party.
- Parties stay until their host deletes them or deletes their account. A cancelled party is view-only for 7 days and is then deleted.
- If you leave a party, what you shared stays in that party, under your name, until the party or its album is deleted.
- Host accounts stay until you delete them. Deleting your account deletes your profile, your sign-in and every party you host, with their photos and videos.
- Guest sign-in IDs stay so you can return to your parties from the same device. Guest content is deleted with the party or its album.
- Purchase records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, refunds and fraud prevention, which can be several years.
- Usage and session records are deleted automatically after 90 days. Totals that can't identify anyone (such as the number of parties held in a month) may be kept longer.
- Technical logs are kept for a short time, normally about 30 days.
- Support emails are kept while we help you and for a reasonable time afterwards.
Deleted content may remain in encrypted backups for a short period before it's overwritten. We can't recover content once it's deleted, so save anything you want to keep.
6. Your choices
- Edit or remove your name, color and profile picture, and delete photos and videos you shared, at any time in the app.
- Leave a party as a guest, or delete a party as its host.
- Delete your host account in the app: Settings, then Delete my account.
- Notifications: hosts can turn each kind off in Settings, and anyone can turn them off in their phone's settings.
- Camera, microphone and photos: you can allow or deny access in your phone's settings. Some features won't work without it.
- Block or report anyone in a party.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we have about you and get a copy, in a portable format;
- correct information that's wrong;
- delete your information;
- object to or restrict some uses of it;
- withdraw consent you gave, without affecting what we did before;
- not be treated differently for using your rights.
We offer these rights to everyone, wherever they live. To use them, email support@aquigo.app. Guests: tell us the party code and the display name you used, since you don't have an email on file. We may need to confirm the request is really from you before acting on it, and an authorized agent can make a request for you with your written permission. We'll reply within 30 days (within the time your local law requires, if shorter or longer). If we decline your request, we'll explain why, and you can appeal by replying to our answer; we'll respond to appeals within the time the law requires.
8. People in the UK, EU and similar places
Avident Solutions is the controller of your personal information. We rely on these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide AquiGo, run your parties and process purchases.
- Legitimate interests: to keep AquiGo safe and secure, monitor that it's working, prevent abuse, handle reports, and understand overall use to improve the service, balanced against your rights.
- Consent: for push notifications and access to your camera, microphone and photos, which you can withdraw in your phone's settings.
- Legal obligation: to keep records and respond to lawful requests.
You have the rights listed above and can complain to your local data protection authority. We'd appreciate the chance to help first, at support@aquigo.app.
9. US state privacy notice
This section is for residents of California, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and other US states with privacy laws. In the past 12 months we collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, account and device IDs); customer and commercial records (purchases); internet and device activity (usage and session records, presence, technical logs); audio and visual information (photos, videos and profile pictures you share); and inferences only in the form of game results and scores. We collect them from you, your device and the app stores, for the purposes in section 2, and disclose them only as described in section 4.
We don't sell personal information, "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising or profiling. We don't use sensitive personal information for anything other than providing the service. Because we don't sell or share, there's nothing to opt out of; we also honor browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control.
10. Children
AquiGo is for people 13 and older, or older where local law requires a higher age to use an online service without a parent's permission (up to 16 in some countries). Hosts must be 18 or older to buy a plan. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Hosts should not invite young children to share content. If you believe a child under 13 has used AquiGo, email support@aquigo.app and we'll delete their information.
11. Security
Information is encrypted in transit and stored with Google Cloud, which encrypts it at rest. Security rules on our servers limit each party's data to its members, and scores, purchases and deletions are handled on the server, not on your phone. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and never stored by us. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
12. Where your data is stored
AquiGo's servers are in the United States. If you use AquiGo from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the US, where privacy laws may differ from yours. Where the law requires, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses in our providers' agreements.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as AquiGo changes. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
